Scrolling Windows Setup On the right here, we have a big 600 x 800 window. Notice (I know it's hard to see) that the all of the controls except the scrollbar are on top of a canvas. The canvas is what will actually be doing the scrolling thanks to its Scroll method. The window has one property "LastScrollValue as Integer" which is the last value of the scrollbar. We use this to get "value deltas" which tell us how much to scroll by. To get this window to fit on a 640 x 480 sized screen, or even an 800 x 600 you need to chop the whole window down. In the open event, we have "self.Height = 400". This will make the window 600 x 400. Take note that canvas does not lock top and lock bottom but the scrollbar does. The only other piece of code in the entire project, the one that actually does the scrolling is only two lines long:
WindowBackground.Scroll 0, (LastScrollValue - me.Value) * 4 Pretty simple, no? We multiply the difference by 4 since the stripes in OS X are spaced by 4 pixels. This way when you scroll, it looks like only the controls are moving, which is contrary to what is actually happening: the entire area of the canvas is being drawn up/down so many pixels. Finished
