This archive is based on reader’s suggestions and is not meant to hold every piece of software there is. Other sites do that.

Aaron Aaron Light 101K (Mac OS 8 / 8.1 only) Shareware

Action

ACTION! Utilities (Try also ACTION! Files, Menu's, GoMac and WYSIWYG.) Commercial

I was a big fan of Now Utilities even through all the crashes! :) I was doubtful any version could exist that would work flawlessly. Power On may just have pulled it off though. Components released so far have proven very stable on my machine. Action Files will allow full customizing of the Open/Save dialog boxes, Action Menu's will provide you with just about any menu customizing you can think of. Action WYSIWYG will give you a visually informative font menu in most applications and GoMac will give you the (only) desirable feature of Windoze machines – the Task Bar. A ResExcellence Edit will beef up almost any version of GoMac you may have!

A-Dock 98K Shareware (compatible with Mac OS 9.0.x) Find more A-Dock Skins here!

A-Dock by Jérome Foucher is like the Application Switcher that comes built-in with Mac OS but on steroids... What is different about it: A-Dock is minimized to one icon when you don't use it. So it saves space on your monitor. A-Dock sticks to the screen edges. Switching your monitor resolution will not move the dock to a place you don't want like the App Switcher does everytime I play Quake 2. A-Dock displays a menu when you control-click (or click&hold with FinderPop) from where you can quit or hide an application. If Wapp pro 2.7 or newer is also installed, you have access to all the windows of each application. Find more "Skins" here!

Agent Audio
Agent Audio Pro
Two versions: Pro and Shareware

Agent Audio and Agent Audio Pro by Clixsounds allows for easy sound manipualtion and creation: "The Mac was made to be customized...especially when it comes to audio, as all Macs come with the native ability to play sounds. Some software companies halfheartedly acknowledge this by adding a few sounds to their products but hiding them deep within the program, thus leaving you with little ability to use the sounds YOU want to hear. Now you can do something about it."

Because the page is in German I have uploaded the file to ResExcellence for easier download. The Homepage is here however.
