Modem Init Strings by Michael Coyle
By reading through the modem init script provided by Apple, I found the following line: write "AT&FL3E0W1Q0V1X4&C1&K3S95=1&D3S7=75S0=0+MS=11,1,300,33600\13" This part is the modem INIT string: AT&FL3E0W1Q0V1X4&C1&K3S95=1&D3S7=75S0=0+MS=11,1,300,33600 Under Linux, by placing this text in the PPP window of Netcfg or the Modem INIT window of KPPP, I was finally able to get a stable dialup connection.
