Move email between Entourage or Outlook Express Accounts
Jim K has stumbled upon a way to transfer or save emails within Microsoft Entourage and Microsoft Outlook Express ver 5.0.2 / 5.0.3. His old ISP (@home) was shutting down and the new ISP assigned him a new email address.
This is an easy process and does not require anyone to mass email, their "old saved email" to their new address.
Steps:
1. Duplicate and rename the old @home data folder within your Mac.
2. Make an email account within "Entourage" for the new ISP.
To duplicate your @home email data and prepare this email data for your new ISP email address, follow these simple instructions.
For Microsoft Office 2001 "Entourage":
1. Double click to open your Mac OS hard drive.
2. Locate your "Documents" folder on the local or root hard drive that contains your Mac OS.
3. Double click the "Documents" folder and locate the folder that is named "Microsoft User Data".
4. Double click the folder "Microsoft User Data" and locate the folder that is named "Office 2001 Identities".
5. Locate the user's folder (usually has the user's name on it, but could be labeled "Main Identity"....)
6. Double click the folder and within this folder are files that have names such as; 'Database', 'Mailing Lists', 'Preferences' and 'Signatures'.
7. Once you have located this folder, close the folder, since you opened it up.
8. Press and hold the "Option" key.
9. Click once on the folder you just closed, hold and drag the folder to a location just beside the original folder, while holding the option key.
10. Release the "Option" key and release the button on the mouse.
11. You created a duplicate folder using the "Option" key to do this.
You should now have a second folder with the same name as the original folder, with the word "copy" at the end of the folder name. Therefore you will have a total of two folders.
You can now edit the name of this folder and change it to "username"....or leave it alone.

5. Locate the user's folder (usually has the user's name on it, but could be labeled "Main Identity"....)
6. Double click open the folder and within this folder are files that have names such as; 'Database', 'Mailing Lists', 'Preferences' and 'Signatures'.
7. Once you have located this folder, close the folder, since you opened it up.
