Shorten the Office Menu in GoMac

With the latest version of GoMac and Microsoft Office 2001 installed, the GoMac Start menu can get pretty wide to the menu name. This edit by Peter McHugh shows you how to shorten that menu name to simply Office.

From the Extensions folder, open a copy of the Action GoMac™ extension in ResEdit.

Find the STR# resources and open them with a double-click.

Find ID# -13148 and open it with a double-click.

String number one will contain the name of your version of Office. (I have Office 98, so that's what is displayed for me). This is what is displayed in the menu, so shorted it to simply Office.

Also perform the edit on STR# -13148 in a copy of the ACTION GoMac™ extension stored in the location shown on the left.

Save your work on both extensions and restart the computer. Your menu name will now be shorter!
