Modify the Iomega Control Strip to open other applications. Sébastien Lavoie put together this edit to convert the Iomega control strip into an application launcher. If you are already using the CSM, you can add applications to it, or simply replace all of the original applications with ones of your own choosing. Sébastien even provides a makeover kit, but first, if you don't have it already, head over to Iomega and download Iomega Tools. (French Version) If you are going to use Sébastien's makeover kit, it is not ready to use, you have to add the sdev resource to it. That step is necessary because we cannot distribute modified version of a copyrighted software. Copy the "sdev" resource from the Iomega Control Strip Module and paste it into the ResEdit Launcher in the makeover kit.
Any version of the Iomega Control Strip Module should work, I didn't test every version but the most recent work well. Copy the ResEdit launcher into the "control strip module folder" and you are ready to use it. Modification instructions for either the makeover kit or the Iomega Control Strip Module. You can change the application list that the Launcher can open. First modify the name in the menu. Note the line number of the menu (7 in this example).
After that, go find the 7th creator listed in the appl resource. Replace it with the creator code of the application you want to use. Save the control strip and restart (You can use it immediately without rebooting if you have system 9!)
