Removing The Sidebar In Dialog Boxes Of Carbon Applications
In a continuing effort to make Panther look like Jaguar, I've now decided to work on the Finder Sidebar. So far, I have only been able to remove the Sidebar from Open and Save dialog boxes of Carbon applications. But because I do not have access to all the parts of the dialogs, I can only remove the Sidebar, not change it's size. Below is a screenshot of the location of the .nib file used to store the layout of Open and Save dialogs.
Yes, that is Panther, just with my Janther theme. Back up the dialog.nib file. You can then make your own changes, or use my .sit archive. The archive only keeps the Sidebar collapsed. You can still drag the slider to expand it, that way if you like the Sidebar, you won't loose it. If you must edit the .nib file, the only things I recommend changing are size and location of elements within the dialog.nib. You can delete the Sidebar and the slider, I have tried that and did not get any errors.
