Add An Info Button To iChat

I wanted to put an info button in the iChat Buddy List so that I could get info on a buddy quickly. Here's a screenshot of the result.

Okay, this is going to be a pretty simple mod.

  1. Go to the Finder, press this keyboard combo; Apple Shift G
  2. In the window that opens enter the following;

    /Applications/iChat.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/

  3. Now in the window that opens find the file called "PeopleList.nib".
  4. Back it up by changing the name to "PeopleList~.nib".
  5. Download and put this replacement "PeopleList.nib" into the same folder.
  6. Thats it, Now just relaunch iChat and it should work.
