Jaguar/Panther: Modification Of Log Out And Shut Down Windows

Procedure
First of all, you'll need the Developper Tools installed, this mod should work the same under both Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar and most installs of Mac OS X 10.3 Panther. If this mod doesn't work on your installed version of Pather, see this
updated article.
Log-in as root user, then, go to
/System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/
or French.lproj, depending on your system language.
In this folder, you should have 3 files:
ProcessPanel.nib
LogOut.nib
ShutDownAlert.nib
Make copies of each of these files to use as backups.
Double-click on any of the items. This will open Interface Builder that came with the Mac OS X 10.2 Developper Tools.
Now, you can rename and replace everything in that window. I suggest that you do not delete any files.

When you've finished rewording your .nib file, save it and move on to the others. Just log out (restart is better) for your computer to see the results. If it's not working, you can boot in Mac OS 9 and rename the file that you have modified. In the same folder, you will see the 3 same files with an spanish sing (~). Delete the normal files, remove the spanish sing (~) from the other 3. Reboot in Mac OS X.
