Change the default Toolbar Icons by Michael Coyle In MacOS X, the predefined icons for the Toolbar are stored in the Finder.app (/System/Library/CoreServices). You can modify them by viewing the Package Contents (A contextual menu in MacOS 9).
The icons are in the data-fork only format, so create them with Iconographer and copy the data fork into the resource fork with QuickConvert.
In the example above, I changed the Computer.icns to a Powerbook icon, matching my Pismo portable. Ain't I cool? The new icon also appears up in the "Customize the Toolbar" window.
