Any Sized Font in Date & Time. by Ian Kelleigh

Open a copy of Date & Time in ResEdit and scroll down to the MENU resource.
Open then with a double-click.

Find ID# -4013 and open it with a double-click.

This is a listing of the font sizes currently available.
Select size 18 with a single click. We will add larger sizes after it.

For each additional font size you want to add, select Create New Item from the Resource menu, and type in the number.
Each time you select the menu, a new box will appear in the menu below the number 18.

In the graphic on the left, you can see I added sizes 20 and 22, and also a smaller size of 7.
All of the sizes will look best with TrueType fonts.
If you are using a bitmapped font, any size you choose that doesn't have a bitmap present will look jagged.
Using Postscript fonts with ATM and font smoothing looks great.
Below is the modified Control Panel showing an OCR font at size 22. Because it's a TrueType font, all of the point sizes are outlined. If the font was a bitmapped, the only the sizes that had available bitmaps would be outlined.

When your finished, save your work and replace the old control panel. Restart the computer and you're all set. |
