SwitchEasy is a producer of iPhone, iPad, iPod and MacBook cases and accessories. Today we are reviewing ‘BONDS‘ in Black, an iPhone 5 case made by SwitchEasy. BONDS is made of a super protective TPU material, a metal frame for extra grip, and features covers for the volume and on/off buttons with tactile feedback. BONDS costs $29.99 and is available in most countries. It is sold in Bondage Black, Snow White, Grenade Green, Purple and Shadow Black.
Packaging
SwitchEasy use a packaging design that makes it easy to open! This is always good to see. All the goodies you get with your SwitchEasy BONDS case are packed into a card package, which includes instructions, and the following:

- One Back Protector
- One Microfiber Wipe
- One Squeegee for your Screen Guard application
- Two Lightning Connector Protectors
- Two Headphone Jack Protectors
This is one of the best things about SwitchEasy cases – they come with everything you need, such as screen protectors and a Microfiber wipe.
Design and Functionality
The design of BONDS says quality. It is constructed from thick rubber, actually a super protective TPU material. The case is ‘bonded’ to a metal frame for extra grip, which has a glossy finish to it, whereas the main part of the case has a matte finish, creating a nice contrast. In all their cases, SwitchEasy provide great buttons to give tactile feedback for the volume buttons and power/lock button – this is different to many cases where they simply leave the buttons unprotected, or provide no feedback.
The case features a thick rubber edge which protects the iPhone 5 really well. The protection for the buttons and covers for the headphone and Lightning connector port is also great, preventing dust and debris from entering your iPhone 5.

The design of this case makes it easy to use, gives it a great feel in your hand, and most importantly, it protects your iPhone 5 against damage. BONDS is a super strong, shock-absorbing case.
Summary
BONDS for iPhone 5 is a nicely designed case which has been well thought out. I was pleased with the packaging, and the features offered by the case. The only problem I had with the case is the metal ‘grip’ on the back coming off, which is surprising because SwitchEasy state it is ‘bonded’ to the case. It even comes with a warning that says “We would like to inform you that this product is NOT a toy. The metal part can separate from the rubber case.” – Why doesn’t SwitchEasy glue it in?
However, I actually like the fact that it can be removed, because it looks quite nice without it. I did not find any other problems with the case. The material used gives it a premium/luxury feel, as it is not glossy or rough, but a smooth matte finish that feels great when held. I would recommend this case to anyone looking for a slightly chunky case with thick material that provides really good protection and comes with all the accessories you need.
