Joseph J. Strout has started an Open-Source, re-implementation of the Control Strip for Mac OS X called "OpenStrip." His page fully describes the approach being used for this project. Further he states: "It is only getting started, and I welcome any and all suggestions." Perfect opportunity for some enterprising ResExcellence readers. Joseph has ensured me he will keep us posted on the development of this project. I plan on adding this to the archive down the road in the Mac OS X Section. Check out the image below which shows one of 4 partial working versions. What makes this even more cool is that they plan on eventually allowing for user defined "skins"!

Akio has released a new version of 'BIG Red.' This new version fixes some minor, cosmetic flaws. BIG Red now allows you the choice of two menu bar styles like 'BIG Graphite.'
