Welcome to RegExcellence! A new site that explores how to make your Microsoft Windows experience even better!

We will use Microsoft's Registry Editor to make low level changes to the sytem so you can do the kinds of things that other operating systems can only dream about.

Want to change the icon associated with a document or application? We can show you how in only 14 easy to follow RegEdit steps!

Because RegEdit is tightly integrated into the operating system (for your convenience), it's the ideal program for making the kinds of changes that other operating systems can only dream about!

In the upcoming weeks, RegExcellence will cover many topics:

  • Learn how the Registry and INI files co-exist, and which INI settings migrate to the Registry during installation
  • Discover how the Registry makes Plug and Play work
  • Learn how to manage legacy systems
  • Find out how to protect the Registry from editing errors and how to recover and fix a corrupted Registry file
  • Learn to use the Registry Editor to search for specific key values and import and export files

This is the kind of stuff that other operating systems can only dream about!

Another feature of RegExcellence is User Submissions for Microsoft Windows. This will become a great source for replacement icons, wallpapers, and desktop patterns! So if you were recently forced to migrate to Microsoft Windows from another OS, but haven't yet lost your creative skills, whip up a little something and sent it to us!

Todays Software Tidbit: Are you forced to use Apple's MacOS at work? Do you miss the Microsoft Window's flag blowing free in the wind? Then here's an exciting new program for you - Virtual PC with Microsoft Windows 98.

This amazing program allows you to continue to run your favorite Microsoft progams under emulation on the MacOS. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Outlook Express can now all run on your company's Mac using Virtual PC with Microsoft Windows 98. Finally!

Other operating systems can only dream of doing this stuff!

The Hot Gossip: A little blue bird from Redmond whispered in our ear some of the new features of the highly anticipated Microsoft Windows 2000. The 5 CD ROM install will require only 243 megs of RAM and less than 2 gigs of drive space! The software engineers at Microsoft have done it again! And what's more amazing is that the programmers have forever eliminated the long rumored "Blue Screen of Death"! Our little spy confirms the screen will now be green!

Because Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Outlook Express are all incorporated into the Microsoft Windows 2000 (for your convenience), you will never need to buy another software package again!

Software Updates: Microsoft released the much anticipated update to the most popular game ever: MindSweeper 2000! This new version ran 4% faster on our new 400 Mhz. Pentium III processor with VooDoo3 graphics accelleration.

New features include: Holding the key combination control-alt-F2-esc converts the current score to a millenium countdown! This new feature will allow you to stay abreast of how much time remains until the year 2000 - and the release of Windows 2000.

Alt-clicking on the smiley face launches Bob 2000. Micrcosoft's latest version of their easy to use digital buddy!

And the best part? MindSweeper 2000 is now integrated into Mircosoft Windows (for your convenience) so you may never have to buy another game again!
