| Change the splash screen in Real Audio Player 5.0.
This little edit helps you find and change the logo that's present while waiting to connect to a streaming video site.
The Real Player logo is stashed in a library file called PNui50.lib. You can find in the System Folder--> Extensions--> Real Audio.
Open a copy of the library in ResEdit and find the PICT resources. Open them with a double-click.

ID numbers 9001 and 9002 are the two logos you will see depending on the version of Real Player that you have.
You can make your own replacement graphis in your favrite drawing program, or download a MacOS replacement that I made.
Copy the replacement to the clipboard and paste it into the two logo resources.

After changing the PICT resources, save your work and quit ResEdit. Replace the original library with the new one and you're ready to go streamin'!
When MacWorld starts up next week, and you're trying to see Steve Job's opening speech, but the servers are overloaded, you'll be able to look at the pleasant MacOS logo while you wait! |
