| Disable Text Box in Explorer's Splash Screen
If you have used one of the fine User Contributions from ResExcellence and replaced the Splash Screen on Internet Explorer, the annoying white text box can cover up a beautiful graphic. Peter McHugh sent this tip to stop the text!
Open a copy of Explorer 4.5 in ResEdit and find the DITL resources.
Open them with a double-click.
Scroll down to ID 400 and open it.
In the lower right corner is the text box, Item 2.
Double-click on it to bring up its properties.
Using the PopUp menu, change the item from Static Text to Picture.

Save your work and quit ResEdit. from now on, your splash screen will no longer be covered with a white text box.
Unfortunately, Explorer displays the splash screen only once per launch. If you want to see it again, you need to restart the computer!
