| Change the WIND type in Quicktime Player 4.0
One of the biggest complaints against the new Quicktime Player is that it doesn't have the standard widow widgets. Using this edit by Patrick Kelleher, you can now add them!
Open up the QuickTime player with ResEdit and find the WIND resources. Open ID #160
Change the WIND resource to a standard resizable MacOS window frame (the third from the left, circled in red).
Open the cicn resources and delete ID's 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003 to remove the rounded window corners.
Save your work and quit ResEdit.
The new version of the QuickTime Player will have a standard MacOS title bar with a window shade button. (You can still resize the window and pull down the favorites drawer.)
I imagine you could go even farther by changing the PICT resources to resources that look a bit more Mac-ish, but you'll have to play with that yourself! :)
