| Remove the version error from rc5/des 2.7
Regardless of the team you have joined to help crack the rc5 encrypted message, you will appreciate this edit!
With the most recent upgrade to MacOS 8.6, the rc5 client has complained loudly at startup that it doesn't support this version of the OS. Many ResExcellence readers have asked for a way to remove the dialog box.
Before proceeding to the edit though, here are a few tips to ensure that the client continues to operate correctly under 8.6 until an update is released.
- Get Info on the application and increase the memory by 300k.
- You may also need to delete and re-enter your preferences.
Open a copy of the rc5/des in ResEdit and find the ALRT resources.
Open them with a double-click.
The first ID is number 256.
Select it with a single-click and delete it.
That's it! Save your work and quit ResEdit. When you launch the new copy, the pesky error dialog will not appear.
