Remove The "Guide" Menu from Netscape's Bookmarks, version 2: The existing Netscape Guide menu edit will result in duplicating your first bookmark folder once you've made changes in the Bookmarks window. This edit will result in a blank space between the separators, which seems more desirable than seeing duplicate items. I've used it successfully on Comm 4.06 and 4.07.
- Open copy of Netscape in ResEdit
- open MENU resources
- open Bookmarks, highlight "Guide" menu entry
- uncheck "selected item enabled"
- uncheck "has submenu"
- delete the text of the word "Guide" on the right.
- Save.
As long as you don't delete the item "Guide", or either
separator, you'll avoid the problem mentioned above.
