This is what I use to connect my Powerbook to a TV:

http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/72401/wo/d53swRdqnIcq211bxOPpRIMhH5M/2.3.0.5.10.3.24.13.0

The Apple AV Cable - only $20 (shameless plug). The previous recommendation was for the DVI to VGA adapter - which is for a external PC displays, not a TV.

Use the Apple AV cable. It plugs right into the audio out (headphones) port.
