so the new ilife comes out tomorrow (the 14th.) i watched the macexpo in cali and i am really excited about the new garage band. i was curious if anyone has played with a version of this software yet... if they used a beta or whatever. also i was wondering if anyone bought the new ilife tomorrow if they could post a personal review of the new garageband and how they like it. thank.

You know, I haven't gotten a chance to use GarageBand yet either...but for the price of admission, I am going to get it based only upon the demo. It wouldn't be shocking if the 1.0 were a little rough, but I expect it will end up great. Heck, if it were $50 by itself, I might still get it.

I have seen the interface, and it's a bit of a hodegpodge. However, I expect that will sort itself out in time, too.

hm... I thought it was the 16th that it came out... apparently if it was today, none of it is available for download... at least, not for 10.2.

too bad... I'll just have to buy a new mac, so i can get iLife for free :)

Was iLife supposed to be available for download...? I don't see how it could be. Unless you count iTunes, but that is very available.

I was at expo and got about an hour or so to play with GarageBand (being released on the 16th, BTW ;-) ).....

If you have any music-skills and wish you did, it's lots of fun...it's a very solid app, and using it on an iMac 20" it was very snappy. I encountered no bugs. I've been using Soundtrack for the past few months and I must say, I find GarageBand to be a lot more fun (the MIDI support is the seller for me).
