Why? That’s got to be the first question in everyone’s mind. Well, because there is no time, interest, or motivation from the owner (me) to get this site done right. After several stalled attempts at a new codebase to organize the mass of old content, I’m doing what I should have done long ago. Putting this site up as an archive of historic mac gui content.
I believe this content has value to a certain audience. It’s a little piece of mac history.
So, feel free to browse and take a trip down memory lane. The old resexcellence.com is the new resexcellence.com. Enjoy.

Holy Crap! Is this real? I came here on a whim after an 8 month absence from the ridiculous comments, and here it is!
This website used to have so much importance in my computing life. Welcome back!
Haha, I keep checking this website and, yeah, wow!
Oh My Goooodddd!!!!!11!1
I accidentally clicked on my bookmark for resex today and thought “heck, what gives, might as well have a look at that loooong comment list to see whether someone still remembers” – new post????? Oh my goodness… Welcome back from years of coma!
Only 3 years? Good job.
Nontent reigns supreme!
Meet the new boss–same as the old boss…
(Insert David Caruso removing sunglasses)
He-YEEAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Seems quite right to have re-posted the archive, historical preservation can open up new ideas for current UI enthusiasts as they pore over the old site. Kudos for sure.
One thing needs a little attention though: drop down menus in various areas aren’t working, makes it tough to dig into the archives.
Thanks Scott, I’ll get those fixed soon.
Wow,
checked resex after a month and…it’s up again! O_o
Well, more or less, better than nothing, anyway…
Welcome back.
Never could imagine who was paying to keep the nightlight on, or why. I guess to everything there is a season. Welcome back.
Holy Crap!
Like Scott, I couldn’t be more surprised. There are 10 year old articles I wrote.
Have fun.
Is this real?!!!
Even if it is just an archive, it’s awesome to have something other then this black abyss too look at.
Thanks for the change!!!
it’s about bloody time.
You’re lAZY
Okay, what’s the plan Stan and do you need and help?
OK, now that we have this place back…. is there a way to show a txt file on the desktop AquaMon style? I want to have a txt file with todo’s and stuff, but i want it drawn on my desktop

Thanks Scott worked like a charm
Owner: please do consider handing the site over to someone who would make it live again, if there are interested parties. An archive is valuable, but could of course coexist with new content.
Also disregard the years of comments on the empty site. Those made the ResEx community look like a bunch of mental patients.
Hey “J”… if that is your real name… Gotta problem with mental patients do we. huh.
^^^^^^ Really? Nothing to disregard here….
Holy fuck,
You can’t be serious. I’ve waited 3 years, don’t check for months on end, and it’s now back…
Thanks for having the balls to re-host the old stuff, even if there’s no new work done. Doesn’t matter really, because all of the old resex fans will still love to see that there is SOMETHING here instead of just a black page with thousands of posts of people complaining about time…
Kudos to everyone who brought this back. Too bad it looks like my old stuff got lost in the process, but it’s nothing I’m losing any sleep over – what happened 7-9 years ago doesn’t affect me today anyways.
Now that everyone and their mothers have had time to download all the old nontent, its time for an update. I was hoping that the spark of 11-Dec-10 update would get this sites fire relit. I was wrong.
Moar Nontent! (Lets see how long this stays here!
Well, It’s now 26-Jul and we still have this lovely bucket of nontent
With the fall upon us, it’s nice to bask in the warm glow of Nontent.
H E L L O (a deep, long echo follows)…
Don’t shout, it disturbs the nontent.
