PolyPhontics is the only full featured DLS and SoundFont® compatible authoring tool available for the Macintosh today. PolyPhontics creates SoundFont® and DLS files, which are much like containers of audio files. These containers can then be used as replacements for Quicktime's Midi instruments. DLS is part of the MPEG4 standard and on Mac OS X , DLS is also part of the core audio component. Realbasic users can take advantage of SoundFont and DLS files to play sophisticated audio (panned, loop, etc...) from within REALbasic projects. The resulting application doesn't suffer any performance hits since QuickTime is handling the sound file. This makes it handy for a variety of REALbasic applications, like games.

	Send in your best PolyPhontics themes. To create a theme, download PolyPhontics and open one of its theme files. It contains a resource file with 4 or 5 PICT resources in it. The best themes will appear on BEST Software Design's site, with the winning theme artist receiving a free registration. That is a $59.99 value!
