Software News: by Cletus
I have added a really cool piece of software called Zoomie to the archive.
I guess now I can truly say we feature software from A Z at ResExcellence. James R Whitson recommended this extension to me. What it does is allow the cursor to follow the zoom box around. You know what happens you want to zoom a window only to find it is way to big or to small and want to revert the window back to its original state, but now you have to mouse all the way back to the zoom widget? With this 7K extension the cursor will stay with the zoom box so you can correct your decision if needed. I am looking for confirmation that it works with Mac OS 9.0.x please. It is confirmed with 8.6.
Robert Friede reminded me of a possible solution for NewFolderHere! not working in 9.0.4. NamedFolder7 will cover the needs just fine.
Open a folder containing some items in list view. Decide where you want to add a folder. From the menubar, choose "New Folder" and a dialog will open where you can enter the new folder's name. Dismiss the box and your new folder appears in the appropriate place if you didn't make a typo.
For some reason, Cmd-N does not work for me, and no dialog box appears, just that old "untitled folder" folder down at the bottom of the list. I wonder if a bit of skilled hacking could restore the Cmd-N function? Though surely not as classy as NewFolderHere!, it ain't bad.
Disco Ball is the newest Kine you can download for the animated icon replacement program, Kineticon.

Themes and Schemes news:
Ben Mackin has updated his Liquid Theme. Fixed are:
Progress bars everywhere (IE, Sherlock, the Finder)
I added "disabled window widgets". Note that these are still being worked on, but they should work pretty well. I need to make it, if possible, so that only the widgets that are supposed to show up, show up. Also I need the title text to recognize that they are there. Since this is just a show off thing, I would like to know if you think I should keep it in or not.
I changed the arrow only popup menu to look closer to the real thing. I really have no applications that show this, so I don't know how well it is working. Please someone let me know how it looks, and what app they are using.
Some minor cleaning up to the resource file.
Ben has also updated his Theme Guide after several people reported being unable to open the file. He still requests feed back on this: Please I need to know if this is going in the right direction?
